"Metaroscopic" by Italian brand Vissionare

Mar 10, 2022

The Italian brand Vissionare is once again showing the world what 'meta-luxury' is all about. The term was coined by a Stanford University student and means 'luxury beyond luxury'. According to the brand's artistic director Eleonora Cavalli, the value of a product is not just about its appearance. It is defined by the people themselves, who want to wear, use, buy objects that speak more about themselves than what they have.

1300 Beverly Estate Drive is a three-storey structure on a hillside with panoramic views of the city and the ocean beyond. At over 1,161 sq ft, the estate is filled with unique amenities, world-class materials and custom-designed décor. Even the crowning skeleton of an Allosaurus at the entrance is not excessive.

The meandering walkway takes guests up to the terrace, which conceals an entertainment area. In the games room there is a multiscreen TV and a lacquered Visionnaire Lancaster pool table. Next to the fitness studio there is a sauna and steam room finished in Calacatta porcelain stoneware which gives access to a courtyard with an open-air Jacuzzi. There is also a private cinema for 12 people with a comfortable Lumiere Sofa and a 600-bottle temperature-controlled wine storage room on the ground floor.

The lower floor is for the occupants of the house and the next floor is for parties, so is equipped with a dining room and kitchen. The biggest surprise is on the terrace behind the glass sliding doors: a pool almost 25 metres long with a view over the town.

Inside the house, too, you feel as if you are outdoors. This effect is achieved by the double-height glass walls (which can hardly be called windows), through which the 6 metre high black marble fireplace shines with daylight.

The kitchen provides the chef with everything he needs, including a pantry for supplies and a pantry for cutlery and crockery, and two grey marble islands with an integrated wine fridge. Visionnaire Stratos chairs complete the ensemble.

The protagonist of the dining room is the Revenge marble dining table designed by Alessandro La Spada. Behind the fireplace is an unexpected bar. It, too, is finished in marble, but in a very rare shade of yellow porto.

Upstairs in the north wing of the house are three guest rooms. The master bedroom is adjoined by a small breakfast kitchen, a snow-white Carrara marble bathroom and an open terrace. The bedroom décor includes an Emotion bed designed by Alessandro La Spada, a Rawdon chest of drawers and dresser, a Melmoth chandelier, and a Blondie armchair and daybed.

The guest rooms are furnished with furniture from other series, each of them has created a unique space, which fits into the single style of the house, which combines the luxury of materials with the conciseness and accuracy of the lines.
