salon NanĂ - Moroso's eclectic collection
Mar 9, 2022
Salon Nanà is an eclectic collection that explores different styles and combines distant worlds. It was born out of a collaboration between Italian brand Moroso and French-Lebanese architect Annabelle Karim Kassar.
"I lived in Morocco for three years and love the typical Medina black and white striped djellaba. In the Nana model I wanted to reflect that atmosphere, a state of mind in constant evolution against all that is static,' comments the architect.
The name refers to the festive atmosphere that reigned in the literary salons at the end of the 19th century (Emile Zola's novel Nana was published in 1880).
The collection includes a modular sofa system and two lines of side tables which are inspired by Moroccan traditions. The sofas adapt to different situations. They combine a solid silhouette with the comfort of large feather cushions. Future owners will also be delighted by the wide choice of fabrics: from striped Moroccan style to linen in basic colours as well as cotton, velvet and others with original prints. Nanà sofas are paired with Mezze, a low conversation mattress traditionally used in Middle Eastern homes.
The collection is completed by large square Nanà tables with a black metal base and worktop, available in three finishes of glass or in black marble marquina, carrara and calacatta. The smaller Not and Harem tables have a black metal base topped with a Moorish tiled top. The tables are also decorated with polished rivets.
